[L.A.T.A. Canada]

Welcome. Bienvenidos.

We in the Latin America Travel Amigos want to share our love, appreciation and knowledge of Latin America with the Canadian travelling public and this country's travel industry.

Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle used Venezuela's exotic interior for his novel The Lost World, and remarked that no part of the world offers more adventure than South America. We believe it's an observation that applies to all Latin America. This inspiring region stretches from the stunning glaciers and fiords of southernmost South America's Tierra del Fuego region to the beautiful desert landscapes of Mexico's Baja California.

Much of Latin America, is underappreciated by Canadians, perhaps because many of its attractions haven't been well publicized here, something we are committed to changing. We are going to familiarize Canadians with the likes of Machu Picchu, Peru's storied "Lost City of the Incas"; Venezuela's awe-inspiring Angel Falls, the highest waterfalls on the planet; the lively tango bars of Buenos Aires; Brazil's endless Amazon jungle; the towering Mayan temples of Tikal, Guatemala; the lofty Andean peaks that give La Paz, Bolivia, its stunning backdrop; and the glorious Spanish colonial architecture of Cartagena, Colombia.

And we will promote the Spanish Caribbean as well, which has given the world such musical expressions as salsa and merengue.
